Stretch Film

Stretch wrap or stretch film is a highly stretchable plastic film that is wrapped around items, usually cartons on a pallet, to keep them secure in transit or protect during storage. The elastic recovery keeps the items tightly bound. In contrast, shrink wrap or shrink film is applied loosely around an item and shrinks tightly with heat. The most common stretch wrap material is linear low density polyethylene or LLDPE but other types of polyethylene and PVC can also be used. Stretch film is available in many gauges and widths depending on the application and can be applied by hand or with equipment, ranging from basic semi automatic wrappers to fully automatic systems that require no operator intervention.

Specialty Packaging is a leading distributor of
3 top quality brands of stretch films.

ITW Muller:

We are a full service ITW Muller distributor, offering the full line of ITW Muller stretch film
and machinery. ITW Muller's stretch films come in a variety of types for wrapping by hand
or with a machine. ITW manufactures both ‘cast’ and ‘blown’ stretch films. Cast films offer excellent cling and clarity and are often the most cost-efficient stretch film choice. Muller’s
cast films work especially well on the ITW Muller Octopus line of automatic stretch wrapping machines. Blown films are slightly noisier on releasebut have extra high levels of strength
and toughness for even the most difficult load types such as pallets with varying tier widths
or protruding objects.

Malpack:

Malpack has over 34 years experience in the conversion, extrusion, and manufacturing of
films. They operate three manufacturing plants to serve their customer's evolving needs
and were the first Canadian-owned company to produce cast stretch film. Their Max Wrap
hand film is a 5 layer cast film with excellent puncture resistance and cling. The Platinum
line is a high clarity, one sided cling film, designed for high speed equipment and is rated
for up to 300% pre-stretch.

Berry Plastics:

Berry Plastics manufactures a full line of stretch machine film. T film is designed to be a low cost, all-purpose film. MP2 delivers significant down-gauge potential for semi-automatic equipment, offering the best down-gauge film value on the market for 20 RPM and under applications. MP5 is designed for higher-speed equipment and provides 250% and greater pre-stretch. Max 1 is the champion for heavy and unstable loads. Berry also manufactures specialty products such as SlipMax, a true one-side slip product for the abrasion sensitive segment, along with UVI films.
